On 10th and 11th December 2008 at WSB-NLU takes place international conference focusing on practical use of new technology in learning as well as teaching process. Conference is prepared in the frame of European Union programs : Leonardo da Vinci and Lifelong Learning within projects called EIT and 4Etrainer. During conference international partnership consisting of specialist in education from Austria, Cyprus, Belgium, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Lithuania, The Slovak Republic and of course Poland will be presenting their experience and best practices in education supported by ICT.

The first day “Too slow in learning? Practical Use of Technology in Education”is mainly dedicated to learners/students who will find a lot of practical information where and how knowledge should be acquired in the “digital age” and how the knowledge should be transferred and presented effectively to others by using accessible via Internet ICT tools. During afternoon workshop session for the first time the EIT project partnership  will be presenting the e-learning courses dedicated to learning English IT language and all participants will get free of charge access. Moreover participants will get valuable information about: Building data search strategies in chosen electronic resources how making persuading and attractive presentation with use of open-source WINK program, how to managing time with using IT tools as well as taking advantage of WEB 2.0 to learning, remembering things and data searching

 

The second day “New technology in education- best practices based on partnership of European Union Project EIT and 4E-trainer” is dedicated to didactics and trainers who will have opportunity to see how e-learning and new technology can be supportive for their educational work. European partners will examine experiences in e-learning so that trainers can accelerate the development of the appropriate tools and techniques.

 

The international specialists will reflect about Internet and its role for educational purposes as well as challenge of blending e-learning materials with a traditional curriculum.  Challenges which education need to face in due to rapid technological changes which influence not only every day life and working environment but also methods of how knowledge is acquired, used and transferred by people. Those changes should be caught up by education in order to become more effective and attractive for “digital society”. During conference all prepared speeches and practical workshops will be focused on new technology in education, international speakers will share experience and best practice in: taking advantage of new Virtual Learning Environments as well ICT tools in educational process, creating attractive for “digital learners” content and giving examples of existing tools for educating through games like Prosperity, using free open source application for incorporation tradition content into more effective form and what is important property rights on Internet – Open licenses: GNU, Creative Commons.

During practical session participants will have opportunity to: know more about practical use of e-learning courses and materials to teach English for IT, prepare e-learning course on the Moodle and EduSquare platform as well will create by their own small e-learning course based on prepared course scenario and ready to use components like interactive exercises and ready graphics with support of WBTExpresss.
